The Village of Flat Rock will host its annual Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 6th with main activities on the grounds of Flat Rock Village Hall but with additional activities throughout the village. Festivities begin at noon.

Enjoy Free ice cream - chocolate chip, strawberry and chocolate and sugar-free vanilla and butter pecan.

Walking tours of Connemara: 10a.m., 11a.m., 2p.m. and 3p.m. at the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic site. Tours last approximately one hour.

The Flat Rock Playhouse will be two performances of "Old Love" at 2:15 and 8:15p.m. The show has mature humor. Tickets are available at 693-0731.

Some merchants on Little Rainbow Row will be doing demonstrations. There will be food and beverages for sale at several locations throughout the village.

Village merchants will have hot dogs, chips and soda for sale to support their Christmas Charity Program.

Various rescue units will be on hand with demonstrations.

The Red Cross will be having a Blood Drive from 12:20 - 4:30p.m.

Still Kickin' - a country and bluegrass band featuring Don Rice, Erskin Levi, Tom Scott, Gary Taylor and Tammy Cunningham

Appalachian Fire - bluegrass band featuring Ranee Stepp, Jim Fox, Dave Ploss, Cliff Searcy and Dwayne "Doc" Durham

QP and Elaine Anderson - a folk and country music group.

Tiffany Ervin will MC the days events.

Miss Hendersonville 2009, Ciara Newman and Hendersonville's Outstanding Teen 2009, Katie Holbert and Miss Asheville, Jill Ascyue will be in attendance.

Dick Timmerman and Cassi (Brenda Pace) and the Clowns of Glory will be there and will do face painting and animal balloons all day.

Beginning at 6:00 on the deck behind Little Rainbow Row, enjoy the Flat Rock Merchant's Summer Music Series. This concert is sponsored by the Village of Flat Rock and features Chuck Brodsky - singer, songwriter and story teller.
